American Crafts DT Call

Hello! Well, tomorrow came and went, but at least it isnt' 7 months later!
I'll have to do a super long catch-up blog later...I just don't have the energy for that today. This morning I had to do a lovely glucose test to screen for the possibilty of developing gestional diabetes during my pregnancy. It was supposed to be a 2 hour affair (for which I couldn't eat or drink prior to it), but it turned into 4 hours of sitting in the waiting room. I'm pretty patient and don't mind waiting, but when you've got a little one constantly kicking you b/c it's waaaay past time to eat, things can get irritating. So the end result? Well, I'm borderline something. I guess during the 2nd hour, my body was not handling the sugars the way it should so I now have to limit my sugar intake. That's ok I suppose, especially since I don't have strong cravings for sweets.

Yesterday I had to go to Wuerzburg to have a doppler sonogram done to check the blood flow in my placenta and uterus. The doctor asked me if I wanted to have a 3D ultrasound and I leapt at the opportunity. I didn't have it with Anberlin and Sebastian simply because of the costs (since insurance didn't cover it). Since I had complications with blood pressure and my placenta when I had Anberlin, this particular ultrasound was covered. The only thing I had to pay for was the cost of the photos. Unfortunately, those weren't on the cheap side. For 25 Euros, I could have just black and white photos. For 60 I could have color (which are really sepia) and a CD ROM of the experience and for 90 Euro I could have a DVD, CD ROM, and photos printed out. Well, since European DVD's aren't compatible in american systems, the 90 Euro package was out. AND since we only brought 40 Euros with us, the middle package was a no go. I'm happy though with the photos we got. I saw him smile a couple of times and got a definite confirmation that he is indeed a boy.

The scans didn't come out perfectly, but you get the point.

For the first half of the year, I took sort of a hiatus from scrapbooking. The beginning of the year, it was due to a complete lack of energy and motivation to do so. I was in my first trimester (and it kicked my butt) and on top of that, my thyroid meds were the wrong dosage. It took all I had to take care of myself and my family. Scrapbooking wasn't really an option, not like it is nowadays.

I'm just going to post my submission for the American Crafts design team. I had issues with the emails going through, so I don't know if I'm even being considered. However, I've loved this company for a long time and feel that my style has grown more into theirs. As of late, I've really enjoyed simplicity, clean lines, and bold colors.

The colors are a bit off due to lack of good natural light. Well, I'll be crossing my fingers until they make the announcement in August!

7 months later.

wow.

wondering what happened to me? why i dropped of the face of the planet it seems?

Given this was taken in June, but you can plainly see my baby bump. I'm now 6 months pregnant, and expecting another little boy.

Yes I have been scrapbooking, not nearly as much as I should though. We moved into a larger apartment last month, and that took away alot of my time and energy. Now I hope to get back into the blogging world.

Well, maybe tomorrow. :)

work work work

Here's a few things I've done in the past few months.
Kaiser Craft and KI Memories Christmas Tree Advent Calendar.

BasicGrey Obscure and Magistical Memories Chipboard altered canvas.
Brazil's ScrapDiary and American Crafts altered canvas.

ScrapMojo- New Year's Tradition challenge.

Layouts for a workshop I plan on teaching on my base. Used the new American Crafts "Teen" line.

These last 5 layouts are 8.5x11, which I find I like. :) I've had this nice D-Ring leather album for awhile now, but it only fits 8.5x11. I've finally put it to use.
Not much going on around here. Today is laundry day. Blah.

Looking for you, you were looking for me.

Good morning! Has everyone recuperated from the holidays? I have and I'm slowly adjusting to the normal routine.

Christmas was wonderful! Josh absolutely surprised me with tickets to see my favorite band, Fall Out Boy.

If you can believe it, I teared up when I opened the gift. I'm usually pretty sneaky and can find out what he buys me, but this came as a huge surprise. Afterall, I didn't realize the tickets had even gone on sale yet since the show isn't until March.

And how perfect is that? It falls close to our 5 year anniversary. And the show will be held in Cologne, Germany. I have yet to go there, but it's high on my list of places to see. Our friends are going to watch the kids so we can have a nice, romantic getaway. The celebration of this anniversary will be a huge contrast from the past. I have lots of planning. :)

Josh bought me a new point and shoot, which I love. It's a Canon Elph 890 I believe. I still love the Sony Alpha, but sometimes I just need something a little smaller and more convinient to carry.

Life around here has been picking up. I was made our FRG Leader a couple of months ago, so I have a little more on my plate. I have workshops planned once a month for the next 3 months, a trip to Amsterdam and Garmisch next month, and a trip to Denmark in either Febuary or March. Our social life has perked up a bit too. We're finally making friends which helps the weekends. lol.

I'm super late in the game, but I've finally finished the Twilight Saga. But I cheated and listend to the books on audio. Don't get me wrong, I love to read. So much so it's a downfall on my character because once I start a book, I absolutely cannot put it down until I've finished it. I opted for the book on audio simply because it allows me the freedom to continue on with my daily life. And I find it makes life a little more "interesting." All I can say is download Twilight on audio and you'll see what I mean. TRUST ME. The actress who reads the books is excellent. Josh says he is going to fuse the headphones to my head (I prefer using the big, over your ear stereo headphones...they're more comfy) since I pretty much listen to the books over and over.

There's something else regarding Josh and his music that has kinda lit a fire under us in a good way. It was a passing thought I had the other day while listening to "New Moon" and it regards one of "Hits&Mrs" songs they are currently working on. If we can get it to work out, holy cow is all I can really say. I'm excited. On a related note, the guys should be putting some new stuff out in the near future.

That's all for now I suppose. MY computer crashed last week and I still feel lost without it. Josh ordered me a new hard drive, so I'm forced to use his comp in the mean time. I didn't lost much, since I save most things on my external. However I have been working on a coffee table book for the past couple of months, showcasing a month to month account of our life in Germany. It was pretty awesome. I chose amazing photographs, filled it up with facts from the cities we've been too, milestones of the kids, etc. 2 months of work, down the drain. :( I'm gutted.

Anyhoo. I'm out.

xoxo

PS- Who's going to CHA? Have a good time!!!!
