Hello! Well, tomorrow came and went, but at least it isnt' 7 months later!
I'll have to do a super long catch-up blog later...I just don't have the energy for that today. This morning I had to do a lovely glucose test to screen for the possibilty of developing gestional diabetes during my pregnancy. It was supposed to be a 2 hour affair (for which I couldn't eat or drink prior to it), but it turned into 4 hours of sitting in the waiting room. I'm pretty patient and don't mind waiting, but when you've got a little one constantly kicking you b/c it's waaaay past time to eat, things can get irritating. So the end result? Well, I'm borderline something. I guess during the 2nd hour, my body was not handling the sugars the way it should so I now have to limit my sugar intake. That's ok I suppose, especially since I don't have strong cravings for sweets.
Yesterday I had to go to Wuerzburg to have a doppler sonogram done to check the blood flow in my placenta and uterus. The doctor asked me if I wanted to have a 3D ultrasound and I leapt at the opportunity. I didn't have it with Anberlin and Sebastian simply because of the costs (since insurance didn't cover it). Since I had complications with blood pressure and my placenta when I had Anberlin, this particular ultrasound was covered. The only thing I had to pay for was the cost of the photos. Unfortunately, those weren't on the cheap side. For 25 Euros, I could have just black and white photos. For 60 I could have color (which are really sepia) and a CD ROM of the experience and for 90 Euro I could have a DVD, CD ROM, and photos printed out. Well, since European DVD's aren't compatible in american systems, the 90 Euro package was out. AND since we only brought 40 Euros with us, the middle package was a no go. I'm happy though with the photos we got. I saw him smile a couple of times and got a definite confirmation that he is indeed a boy.
The scans didn't come out perfectly, but you get the point.
For the first half of the year, I took sort of a hiatus from scrapbooking. The beginning of the year, it was due to a complete lack of energy and motivation to do so. I was in my first trimester (and it kicked my butt) and on top of that, my thyroid meds were the wrong dosage. It took all I had to take care of myself and my family. Scrapbooking wasn't really an option, not like it is nowadays.
I'm just going to post my submission for the American Crafts design team. I had issues with the emails going through, so I don't know if I'm even being considered. However, I've loved this company for a long time and feel that my style has grown more into theirs. As of late, I've really enjoyed simplicity, clean lines, and bold colors.
