Anniversary Box

Here's a custom order box! I'm in a lazy mood and don't feel like posting all of the individual layers, but it's pretty cute. It has more of a grown up feeling.
I used the LilyKate papers by Basic Grey because the guy said his mom likes purple. I used the sewing machine too. I love the look of stitches on a page, only problem is, I'm not the world's best sewer. LOL. I guess it'll come with more practice.
TFL!

Scrap Rant of the Day

I love American Crafts products. What I do not love right now is their "Thickers" chipboard sticker alphabets. It is sorta reminiscent of my issues with the Heidi Swapp chipboard stickers...they don't stick.

They don't stick to my papers.

They don't stick to the sticker sheet it came on.

You know what they stick to?? Each other.

I pulled them out of my "alphabet" drawer yesterday only to find half of them off the sticker sheet and gathered at the bottom of the cellophane for a little cocktail party.

Despite the inconvinience of having to glue them on to my layouts, I still like them simply because of their name. It's like having a speech impediment forced upon you. It's great. :) Say it with me....thickers. Thickers. THICKERS. See?

xoxo

PS- new work soon to come! I've been a little busy bee, despite pulling a muscle in my back. *ouch* I'm still recovering.

Flocked Box

New box done for a swap (black and white with ONE other color of choice). This gave me the chance to use up some of this kit I got for Christmas from my husband. I really like this one. I think I'm going to recreate it for my etsy.
Disregard the typo on the labeling. I didn't realize I had done that until I uploaded the pics to photobucket. I'm too lazy to go back and change it.
Today I went shopping for scrap stuff for the first time in a LOOOOOOOONG time. I went to get adhesive. LOL. I think we all know who this one ends. I did pretty good though. Joann's had a BUNCH of jolee's embellishments on sale for hella cheap. Typically, I don't use these on my own layouts, but they sure do look cute in boxes!

Family and Friends Exploding Scrapbook in a Box

New scrapbox up on my etsy. I really like the colors on this one. Pattern papers by KI Memories and My Mind's Eye.

I have a few custom boxes I am making for people. These little things are so much fun to do. Once I knock the custom ones out of the way, I plan on starting some for the upcoming fall holidays. I am hoping that once we get to Germany, I can work some of the craft fairs/carnivals that are on the bases and sell my things there.

Aw! My first business card

I used the banner from my website made by one of my best friends, Christine O'Brien. Vistaprints.com had a special, 250 business cards for FREE. yes. FREE. Well I did have to fork over 4.99 to use my own design instead of using one of theirs, but it was worth it.

Patrick Stump (of Fall Out Boy) ATC

I felt like such a teenie bopper making this artist trading card. LOL! Ok, so this was for a swap I hosted. The subject was to make a card centered around music. It could be your favorite band, musician, song, etc. On my cards, I did a stencil of Mr. Stump (not mine, btw) and each card has a lyric from one of FOB's songs. I chose him b/c he's uber talented. Plus, when he talks about music in interviews, it totally reminds me of my husband b/c they are both pretty knowledgeable musically.

One of my best friends...

Here was a challenge from my SW group. Do a layout of your best friend...no pictures of yourself, husband or pet (i think pet? i don't remember now!).

I'm not thrilled with this. I think the tissue primas are throwing me off...and maybe i should have distressed the bazill cardstock edge as well. hmmmm.

it's a learning process people. :)

Jewelry for sale!

I made a bunch of earrings and necklaces to put on my etsy site, but was forced to take them down. Copyright issues? I don't see how. Aaaaaaanyhoo. Here they are in all their illegal copyright infrigement glory.

email me if you're interested. :)

Army Bear

I call this my "cheater" layout. LOL. I used two pieces of paper...the patterned and the cardstock base. The patterned paper is from a kit I got for Christmas and it's made to look like a bunch of papers layered together.

Cheater cheater pumpkin eater.

The picture is of my wonderful daughter. My mother bought the green Army bear for her and it instantly became her favorite toy. We were outside playing in the backyard on a chili March afternoon. She was iritated b/c she didn't have use of her hands while she held it, so I stuffed it in her sweater and let it peek out. And there it stayed for the rest of the evening.

Birthday Boy

First things first. Sorry about the crappy quality of the photo. I'll fix it one day, but right now it's a rainy day and I'm feeling the rainy day blues.

When Sebastian's Birthday came around, I forgot to get party hats. I scoured my parents house and found some old Dora the Explorer ones from Anberlin's first Birthday. Being the nifty, thrifty crafter that I am, I pulled out my DCWV Retro Stack and pulled out what I felt was an appropriate color/theme for my little boy. And secretly in my mind I planned to use the same papers in the scrapbook layouts later. :)
