In Memoriam

In honor of Memorial Day, I felt that making a tribute layout was necessary. In 1968, Josh's Uncle was killed in the Vietnam War. He had only served there for 6 months when he passed away from gunshot wounds. He was a part of the 9th Infantry which apparently is the oldest and most decorated active unit in the United States Army.

Here's a photo of his name on the Vietnam Memorial (photo found online via the 9th Infantry 6/31st Infantry website.)
The photos I used on the layout (thanks to Josh's dad for getting them to me so quickly):

I hope everyone has a fun and safe holiday. Take a moment though to really remember what it's all about.

xoxo
Jess

Jess wanted to come on today to say Thank You to your family for the service to protect our country. The sacrifice you have to do is priceless.

Your layout of Josh's uncle is beautiful and heartwrenching. One of my all time favorites!

Hi, This layout brings back memories of my pow/mia bracelet I wore as a child. As a teen I visite the Wall and found my name. For so many over the years lost warriors this layout is a wonderful memorial. Thanks for sharing.

You did a beautiful job. Its a very emotional lo.

On a totally different note, I'm hoping to be in Europe from Sept-Dec of this year. Think you might have a day or two that we could hang out? I'd love to meet & visit!

Beautiful LO. A wonderful tribute to Josh's Uncle. Thanks for sharing. My husband was in Viet Nam 7/68 to 7/69. I am thankful he came home safely.
